Regional Superintendence of Labour and Employment in Minas Gerais (SRTE/MG) takes part in the Second Seminar on Health and Safety at Rural Work, which will take place at SESC Paracatu/MG, on September 29 from 9:00am to 17:30pm. The event aims to raise awareness for health and safety in rural work. With a focus on the consequences of pesticide use, while discussing the alternatives; the application of Regulatory Standard NR31, which establishes the principles to be observed in the organization and in the work environment, in order to make the planning and development of the activities of agriculture, livestock, forestry and logging compatible with the health and safety and environment.
Labour inspector Milene Vieira Dias will be the coordinator of two panels that will take place at 10:00 and at 14:00. In the first panel, the labour inspector Carlos Fernando Lage Passion will talk about working at height, confined spaces and the use of pesticides in rural activities. Wander Magalhães, Agricultural and Occupational Safety Engineer, will talk about Building the Safety in Rural Work.
The event is for workers. employers and students. During the seminar, the participants will attend the lectures: The responsibility of the State in rural workers’ health, Building the safety in rural work, and Periodic medical examination and its importance for the worker.
The seminar, which is organized by the Federation of Agricultural Workers of the State of Minas Gerais (FETAEMG), Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Minas Gerais (FAEMG), and the Labour Court in Minas Gerais with the support of the SESC and SRTE/MG.
