Congress to debate mordern-day slavery in Minas Gerais

The Ministry of Labor (MTb), in partnership with other bodies, will hold the “Modern Day Slavery: Challenges and Perspectives – New Labor Scenario and Impacts on Combating Contemporary Slave Labor”.

The objective of the event is to foster the debate among professionals from different fields, such as the members of the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), the Ministry of Labor, lawyers, academics and the law students, to further study the problem and its reflections in the work of the Labor Court and in the workers’ rights.

The event will take place on July 14, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the TRT of the 3rd Region, in Belo Horizonte, and will be open to will be open to magistrates and servants of the TRT of the 3rd Region, to students, teachers, prosecutors, lawyers and the general public, upon registration to be made until July 4th.

The initiative is the result of a partnership between the MTb; the Judicial School of the Regional Labor Court of the 3rd Region (TRT-MG); the State Committee for Assistance to Migrants, Refugees and Stateless Persons, Combating Human Trafficking and Eradication of Slave Labor (Comitrate); the Secretariat for Human Rights, Social Participation and Citizenship (SEDPAC); the Secretariat for Human Rights, Social Participation and Citizenship (SEDPAC); the Slave Labor and Human Trafficking Clinic of the Faculty of Law of the UFMG; the Brazilian Bar Association – MG Section.
