Regulatory standard NR12 was the meeting theme of the Brazil-Germany Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, which took place on September 22, in Joinville, SC. The presentation on NR12 was done by Rômulo Machado, the Standardization and Programs General Coordinator of the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), and Aida Becker, the fiscal auditor (SRTE/RS).
The debate took place during the 33rd Brazil-Germany Economic Meeting to expand the binational cooperation. “It was an opportunity to better explain the importance of the Standard and dissolve the doubts of the German government and business, in addition to show the importance of modernizing the legislation involving machinery and equipment,” said Rômulo.
NR12 establishes the requirements for the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases in the phases of design, manufacture, importation, commercialization and use of machines and equipments.
